About

Founded in 2006 in Georgia. One of the oldest studios in the region.
With branches in Tbilisi and Budapest today IFP is an international company with a strong focus on auteur-driven cinema from Eastern Europe.

Our recent titles include Venice Special Jury Prize winner APRIL also awarded Best Film in Zabaltegi-Tabakalera competition at San-Sebastian and PATIENT#1 which recieved Werner Herzog Film Award.
Studio feature film credits include  STREET DAYS with Tiger Award at Rotterdam and nomination at Locarno, HUNTER with Cannes Un Certain Regard nomination.

Independent Film Project is also engaged in educational and cultural initiatives that reflect our commitment to increase public knowledge and understanding of Georgian arts and culture. Studio is on the Board of Trustees of GEORGIAN THEATRE AND FILM MUSEUM.

Sergei Yahontov

Sergei is a film Producer, Partner at Independent Film Project. Features and documentaries produced by Sergei have been screened and awarded at numerous international film festivals including Venice, Rotterdam, San Sebastian, IDFA, DocLisboa among others.

Archil Gelovani

Archil Gelovani is a film Producer, founder of "Independent Film Project". Archil produced award-winning Georgian and international co-productions that were shown at Cannes, Rotterdam, Edinburgh among others. Archil is a member of the European Film Academy.
